Expert profile of Crystal Eaton

Get to know Crystal

I qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and specialise in catastrophic injury cases, such as brain injury and other serious and complex injuries. I also act in fatal cases. I’m very determined in my fight for my clients’ right to compensation and rehabilitation and I’m known for my supportive and understanding approach to my clients.

Career highlights

I’ve had many highlights during my career. My recent case settlement successes include:

  • £1 million for a catastrophic brain injury victim, who was injured as a result of a violent assault in a nightclub. It was a second opinion case and liability had been strongly denied.
  • £1.1 million for a brain injury client, injured as a pedestrian in a road traffic crash.
  • Over £1million in compensation for families of victims who died in a tragic motorway crash.
  • £438,000 for a cyclist who sustained a brain injury when he fell from his bike, due to a pothole. Liability was strongly denied and we won at the liability trial.
  • £350,000 for a former police officer and police federation member who sustained a brain injury, as a result of a road traffic crash.

In previous years, I also assisted the team with a win of £4.8 million compensation for a young woman who sustained brain damage in a car accident where the driver was uninsured. In addition, I assisted with obtaining a settlement of £4.6 million for a young woman who sustained a serious spinal injury and was left paraplegic after a road traffic accident.

Recognition

The Law Society have awarded me a Personal Injury Accreditation, recognised in England and Wales.

I’ve also been recognised in an independent legal guide, The Legal 500, for the past few years. I'm currently ranked as a “Rising Star” and the 2023 edition of the guide states: “Crystal Eaton ‘combines her sensitive approach to client with the fiercest determination to fight for their cause‘."

I have also recently received the APIL accreditation at Senior Litigator level.

The extra mile

I’m a steering group member of the Eastern Region Brain Injury Forum, member of the Norfolk and Waveney Acquired Brain Injury Network and Chair and member of the Eastern Region Vocational Rehabilitation Forum. I was also recently a Trustee of Headway Suffolk and was involved with the firm management of a cyclist interest group for a few years. I have provided training to brain injury charities and police family liaison officers on how to support the seriously injured and bereaved families following a road traffic accident.
